Get to know the 2022 National Socio-Economic Survey (Susenas)

The National Socio-Economic Survey (Susenas) produces data that is used as a benchmark for household socioeconomic conditions. Susenas as the Mother of Survey of BPS produces socio-economic indicators that are used for many purposes. The planning and evaluation of national development programs through the policies of many ministries/agencies depend on their sources of information from the results of the Susenas.

From the Susenas produced three data which are national development targets, namely poverty, the Gini ratio, and the Human Development Index (IPM). Besides that, Susenas data is also used as an evaluation of the achievements of indicators of sustainable development goals (TPB), National and Regional Medium-Term Development Plans (RPJMN/D) and basic data for other policies.

As strategic as the Susenas data is, data collection officers are required to understand each question and be able to communicate it to respondents appropriately.
